Subject to the right of consumers to return goods for refund under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 and the Consumer Rights Act 2015, SRS Microsystems Ltd does not sell products on a trial basis. Customers are strongly advised to check suitability and specifications of products before ordering.

We offer customers the opportunity to return goods up to 14 days after receipt (“the Returns Period”), subject to the terms and conditions in this returns policy.

You must prior to returning any goods received, contact our customer support team or by completing our online form to obtain an RMA number. Failure to contact us in respect of a return or cancellation in line with one of the methods set out above will result in a delay in processing your refund or the product being returned to you. All authorised returns must be returned to Returns Department, SRS Microsystems Ltd, Unit 1, Chess Business Park, Moor Road, Chesham HP5 1SD

If you exercise your right to cancel your order after the goods have been despatched, you will be responsible for returning the goods to SRS Microsystems Ltd (within 14 days of notifying us) at your own risk and cost, therefore we strongly recommend you use an insured delivery method, such as Royal Mail Special Delivery. For items which cannot ordinarily be returned by post, we will at your request use our reasonable endeavours to arrange a courier to collect the goods; the estimated maximum cost of this would be £15 per item. (See below in relation to the return of faulty goods.)

All returns are subject to the following conditions, except where the goods are faulty or incorrectly described on the Web Site.
  • Your item is complete and in 'as new' saleable condition:
  • If you have opened the box to examine the product you must have done so without damaging or marking the product or packaging
  • You haven't used the item
  • The item contains no personal data and hasn't been registered to a user
  • The item must be returned within 14 days of you requesting to return it.
  • While you have to pay to return the goods, we will refund the standard delivery cost of getting the goods to you in the first place (if you paid for delivery). If you opted for an enhanced service e.g before 9am, we will only refund the standard delivery cost.
  • Any use of the product is relative to examining it, and ensuring it suits your needs. The extent to which you can handle the goods is the same as it would be if you were assessing them in a shop. SRS Microsystems Ltd does not sell products on a trial basis.
  • A deduction can be made if the value of the goods has been reduced as a result of you handling the goods more than was necessary. We may refuse the return of items without the original packaging or where it has been returned in poor condition.
  • Software, memory cards and DVDs can only be accepted if still sealed. This policy is to avoid any potential breach of the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act (CDPA) 1988. All opened software is exempt from return under the terms of the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. Software that arrives damaged or is physically faulty may be returned under our normal returns policy.
  • It is returned with the original box, packing and any accessories you received with it.
  • A proof of purchase must be supplied.
  • You also return any free gifts which came with the product, which also must be in their original packaging and in a saleable condition
  • We will not refund any items that have been specially ordered to your individual specification or personalised.
  • The item has not had any cashback claimed (if applicable)
  • Any free gift dependant on purchase must be returned with the original item.
  • Gift Vouchers are not eligible for exchange or refund
Until such time as you return the goods to us you must take reasonable care of the item(s). Any use of or damage to the delivered goods or product packaging beyond that necessary to inspect the goods upon delivery may result in you incurring a restocking charge to cover the loss that we might reasonably expect to incur in reselling the item(s). We may refuse the return of items without the original packaging or where it has been returned in poor condition.

Subject to the above, if you exercise your right to cancel your order within 14 days (where the goods are not found to be faulty), we will reimburse to you all payments received from you, including the costs of delivery (except for the supplementary costs arising if you chose a type of delivery other than the least expensive type of standard delivery offered by us).

Faulty goods: For faulty goods we offer the following terms:
  • You will always have the option of an exchange or refund if the fault occurs within 30 days of delivery.
  • If the fault has occurred within the first six months after delivery but after the first 30 days, you can ask us to repair or replace faulty goods. However, we can, choose the solution that is more proportionate or practical for us. In the majority of cases, we will send an item for repair in the first instance. If the repair is unsuccessful, you can then claim a replacement or a full refund. Alternatively we will seek to agree a price reduction with you if you wish to keep the product.
  • After six months, unless you can demonstrate that the fault was present at the time of original delivery or we have previously arranged a repair and this has failed to resolve the fault, our liability will be limited to providing you with reasonable support to make a claim under the manufacturer’s warranty, where applicable.
In all cases we reserve the right to inspect the product and verify the fault and, if no fault is found, return the product to you. In these circumstances, no refund will be processed until the returned goods have been received by us and an appraisal made as to any fault. This promise does not cover faults caused by accident, neglect, misuse or normal wear and tear.

Any refund due to a fault or other defect will include a refund of the delivery charge. In such circumstances we will also pay for your costs of returning the goods (up to £10 in the UK and £20 outside the UK). Beyond six months you will be responsible for covering the costs of returning the goods (unless you have been able to establish that the goods were defective at the time of original delivery, in which case we will reimburse your costs as set out above). We strongly recommend you use an insured method such as Royal Mail Special Delivery. Replacement goods are sent by standard delivery only (i.e. premium services are not available).

Refunds will be processed within 14 days of receipt of the returned products.

This returns policy does not affect your statutory rights. Details of your statutory rights are available from the citizens advice bureau or consumer direct.

DJI LiDAR Range Finder Compatibility

The Panasonic Lumix S5D is fully compatible with the DJI LiDAR Range Finder, offering advanced autofocus capabilities for videographers and photographers. When paired with the DJI RS 3 Pro Gimbal, the LiDAR Range Finder delivers precise distance measurement through 43,200 ranging points within a 14-metre range. This feature allows the S5D to achieve faster and more accurate autofocus, particularly in low-light conditions, without needing a focus motor or lens calibration. The result is a streamlined setup process, improved handling, and greater creative freedom during shooting.

Exceptional Low-light Performance

Panasonic designed the S5D for exceptional low-light performance, incorporating Dual Native ISO sensitivity, which was first introduced in their VariCam cine cameras. Unlike single native ISO sensors, which produce more noise as ISO increases, Dual Native ISO minimises noise by selecting the optimal circuit based on sensitivity before gain processing. This allows for a maximum ISO of 51200, with Dual Native ISOs of 640 and 4000, giving you complete creative control in low light, reducing the need for additional lighting and saving time on set.

Capture Professional Video

The Lumix S5D offers impressive video capabilities, supporting 4K 60p/50p 4:2:0 10-bit and 4K 30p/25p 4:2:2 10-bit internal recording, with 4K 60p/50p 4:2:2 10-bit HDMI output. Thanks to Panasonic's advanced heat dispersion design for continuous shooting, it provides unlimited 4K 30p/25p 4:2:0 8-bit recording. With 14+ stops of dynamic range, VariCam colour science, and V-Log/V-Gamut compatibility, the S5D ensures cinematic quality. HDR video recording in 4K utilises ITU-R BT.2100 and HLG for natural contrast and shadow detail.

The 6K Photo mode also allows 30 fps burst shooting, extracting 18-megapixel frames. It also features Slow & Quick mode, capturing smooth 4K and FHD slow-motion and quick-motion footage, with advanced image stabilisation and focus peaking for enhanced shooting precision. The dual SD card slots and long battery life further support extended shooting sessions, making the S5D a versatile tool for professionals.

Autofocus Performance

Panasonic's Lumix S5D features a redesigned autofocus system, improving precision and speed for photography and video recording. By combining contrast AF with DFD (Depth from Defocus) technology, the S5D achieves focus in 0.08 seconds. Built for low-light performance, the camera includes -6EV luminance detection for impressive low-light autofocus, made possible by the sensor's high sensitivity and fine-tuning. When paired with a Lumix S series lens, the sensor and lens communicate at up to 480fps, ensuring swift and responsive autofocus.

The autofocus system also benefits from advanced deep learning technology, accurately detecting specific subjects, including people and fast-moving animals such as cats, dogs, and birds. Notably, person detection includes the standard eye, face, and body recognition but also tracks heads in real-time, enhancing autofocus accuracy. Once detected, the camera continues tracking the subject even if they move unpredictably—such as turning their head or moving away. Panasonic’s improvements to DFD technology further enhance AF-C performance, allowing the S5 to consistently capture sharp, crisp images of small and fast-moving subjects.

Image Stabilisation

Panasonic has equipped the S5D with a highly effective image stabilisation system, focusing on precise shake detection. It uses an advanced algorithm that calculates shake information from the gyrosensor, image sensor, and accelerometer. This setup allows for incredibly accurate stabilisation, enabling shutter speeds up to 5 stops slower. Combined with the 2-axis optical stabilisation of Lumix S series lenses, the 5-axis Dual I.S. 2 system compensates for blur, allowing up to 6.5 stops of slower shutter speeds. This means you can confidently shoot in conditions previously challenging, such as using a telephoto lens or shooting in low-light environments, even with one-handed operation. This stabilisation works for both photo and video, including when shooting in 4K, ensuring sharp and stable results.

Durable Design

Panasonic designed the Lumix S5D to adapt effortlessly to any task with its compact and highly mobile build. Its tough magnesium alloy full die-cast body ensures durability, being both splash and dust-resistant, making it reliable for heavy field use. The camera's optimised heat dispersion system supports longer filming sessions, while the rechargeable battery, which can be powered via AC or USB, ensures uninterrupted shooting. With dual SD card slots—one UHS-I and one high-speed UHS-II—you won't run out of storage space during extended shoots.

Connectivity is another strength of the Lumix S5D, offering seamless integration with smartphones and tablets through Bluetooth 4.2 for easy sharing of settings between multiple cameras in a multi-camera setup. The addition of 5GHz Wi-Fi ensures smooth remote control and high-speed data transfer, enhancing the camera's versatility.

Its large Live View Finder (LVF) complements this, offering a 0.74x magnification ratio with a high-speed OLED display that provides sharp, lag-free viewing with 2,360K-dot resolution. For users wearing glasses, the 20mm eyepoint ensures comfortable visibility. The 3.0-inch free-angle LCD, with 1,840K-dot resolution, further enhances usability with intuitive touch control, while the REC Frame Indicator ensures you’re always aware when the camera is recording, so you never miss a moment.
