Terms and Conditions of Hire

Equipment can be hired for any period of time from a minimum of 3 to a maximum of 28 days. If you need to hire equipment for a longer period, then please contact us for details.

Please see the pricelist for hire charges. Our opening offer includes free delivery and collection once the hire period is over.

Equipment hired will be delivered the day before the hire is due to commence. For example if you wished to hire a lens from Wednesday to Saturday we would post the lens to you on Monday for delivery on Tuesday. We would then collect the lens the day after the hire (excluding weekends when we would collect on the Monday). A penalty fee of £10 will apply if the equipment is not ready for collection when the courier calls.

Can I extend the hire period?

This may be possible if another customer hasn’t reserved the equipment. We would then charge the extra daily rate as shown on the pricelist. Please contact us as soon as you think you may require the equipment for longer.

Can I cancel the hire?

Orders can be cancelled if we haven't already dispatched the items to you. There are no cancelation fees for orders cancelled within 7 days of the order, or 14 days before the start of the hiring period.

However cancellation fees apply if you cancel an order more than 7 days after placing it and less than 28 days before the start of the hire period. This fee would be 50% of the original hire fee.

Can you deliver / collect from a work address?

This is usually possible as long as we have the correct address the card is registered to. If we feel that this may pose a risk we reserve the right to have the equipment delivered or picked up from the card address only.

How do I pay?

We currently are unable to complete a hire transaction via our website. Please call us on 01923 226602 or 220558 and we can take your order details. On placement of your order your card will be validated and authorisation for the total payment for the hire charge will be taken in full (including any deposit) We reserve the right to charge a deposit if we consider the transaction to be unusually risky. When the item of equipment has been returned safely, the deposit (if left) will be returned.

What happens if the delivery is late?

On occasion deliveries may arrive late and late arrivals are judged by the day the courier first attempts to deliver the hired equipment at the delivery address. If an item does arrive late, you have three options:

  • Go ahead with the hire and return it as scheduled. We will refund two days' hire charges for every day late.
  • You may cancel the hire contract and return the item immediately to us and payment will be refunded.
  • You can extend the return date to complete the original hiring period providing that another customer hasn’t already booked the item.

Whatever you decide, please let us know if an item does not arrive on time and please make sure that you are available at the delivery address on the expected delivery date.

What happens if I damage the equipment?

We insure the equipment for accidental damage whilst it is in your possession. As long as you have adhered to our insurers Terms and Conditions your liability is limited to the insurance excess of £150.

What happens if I lose the equipment?

Please contact us immediately if this happens. We'll then buy a lens to replace the one you've lost, and we'll charge your credit card for it. We reserve the right to charge a penalty as we have potentially lost business, as we have been unable to hire the equipment.

While ordinary wear and tear is expected eg. minor scratches on the lens hood, barrel etc, damage to vital parts of the equipment which effects its performance for example scratches on the glass or mount of the lens and physical damage camera including the sensor, screen, lens mount etc would be expected to be compensated for and you must be sure that you can comply with the terms and conditions or Imaging Insurers to cover the cost of the insurance.

Privacy policy:

Where a customer is required to provide us with personal information such as homes address, email address and phone number, this information is only used for security checks and to contact you with regards to our service. It is never sold to any outside vendors or third parties for solicitation.
